Incentive Zoning Request (July 2023)

The Town of Canandaigua, Town Board has been petitioned to change the zoning of German Brothers Marina at 3904, 3907, and 3935 County Road 16 from Residential Lake District to Incentive Zoning. The Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua will be spending significant time reviewing the request, and hearing from residents on the proposal.

The Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua heard a presentation from the applicant on August 21, 2023, and September 18, 2023. The Town Board will be taking the lead on the request and providing guidance on each step of the process. If the Town Board finds it is in the best interest of the Town to move forward, at some point in later 2023 or early 2024 they would direct a local law would be drafted to rezone the parcel(s) including all considerations deliberated at the time of such action. Any local law considered would additionally have public hearings and consideration at the time of such action.

Public Hearing(s):

The Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua opened a public hearing on the rezoning request on September 18, 2023 and during the meeting continued the public hearing to a meeting to be held on November 20, 2023 at 6pm at the Town Hall and via zoom.

At the November 20, 2023 Town Board Meeting, it was decided that the public hearing would not be closed and would continue at a time to be determined once the applicant provided requested information.

At the December 18, 2023 Town Board Meeting it was decided to continue the public hearing on January 31, 2024.
