Employee Recognition Ceremony

On March 21, 2016, the Canandaigua Town Board hosted the 1st Annual Employee Recognition Reception and Ceremony.  During the ceremony, a total of 34 employees and appointed board members were recognized for their service.  Together the 34 employees have provided a total of 460 years of service to our community! 

Established by the Town Board in 2015, the Employee Recognition Program is designed to show appreciation for the employees and appointed board members who have remained in continuous employment for 5 years or more. Employees are recognized for reaching employment milestones of 5 year increments.  The program does not include elected officials.

Sharon McNealus, a 12 year employee had this to say about the ceremony:  “It was truly an enjoyable evening with good food, friends and a very nice presentation to the employees who were recognized”.

During the ceremony, Supervisor Pam Helming provided examples of the many accomplishments of each department and board.  Helming noted that although the reception and ceremony are limited to one evening, every Town Board member stands united in supporting our dedicated and loyal employees all day, every day.  She went on to say, “We are proud of the extra effort you put in and the great work you do on behalf of the Town.  It’s because of you that the Town of Canandaigua is one of the greatest places in this region to live and work.”
