Agricultural Advisory Committee to Host Family Farm Succession Planning Presentation

Since 1791, agriculture has been the hallmark of progress in the Town of Canandaigua. Today, a balanced approach to development and agriculture includes long term succession planning. On Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 5:00 pm, the Town of Canandaigua Agricultural Advisory Committee will host an informational workshop focusing on family farm succession planning. Succession Planning can assist with the many, sometimes complicated, aspects of passing on the family farm. This includes transfer of ownership and operations management, estate planning, and wills; while also helping to reduce or eliminate income, estate, and gift taxes.

The Town has long embraced its agricultural heritage, and has taken proactive steps to ensure the future of agriculture through the protection of prime soils and succession planning with our farm and land owners.

This presentation is open to the public and will take place in the Town of Canandaigua’s courtroom on the lower level of the Town Hall, 5440 Routes 5 & 20 West, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
