(Canandaigua, NY) – The Town of Canandaigua has been working to assess facility changes needed to best meet the needs of its residents for the next 25 years. The most critical needs identified are replacement of the outdated highway garage which was constructed in 1971 and renovation of other existing facilities within the Highway Compound.

 

A plan has been developed that would substantially improve the ability of the Highway, Water and Parks Departments to meet the needs of the Town’s residents both now and in the future while at the same time improving employee safety and quality of life, decreasing energy costs, and bettering protection of expensive and vital equipment and materials. The approximate cost of this plan is $5.9 million dollars.

 

Town residents are invited to attend one of two meetings that will be held to explain the process used to identify these critical needs and to describe the plan that has been developed. Residents are highly encouraged to attend so they can learn about all the efforts that have been taken on their behalf and provide any feedback they may have regarding the current proposal.
