Haudenosaunee Winter Games, Food & Storytelling
Experience the Seneca ways of winter at Ganondagan’s Haudenosaunee Winter Games, Food & Storytelling. During the long, harsh winters in Western New York, the Seneca gathered in bark longhouses to repair clothing, make tools, and prepare for spring—while still staying active outdoors through winter traditions that continue today.
Join Ganondagan for a full day of cultural activities and demonstrations, including snowsnake and dog sled demonstrations, Haudenosaunee social dancing workshops, storytelling, traditional games, maple sugar and traditional tapping demonstrations, and children’s activities. Enjoy food demonstrations and sampling, and Haudenosaunee white corn–inspired foods will be available for purchase.
Plus: Complimentary admission to the Seneca Art & Culture Center, including exhibits and the Iroquois Creation Story film.
