Park Improvements Continue Across the Town of Canandaigua
The Town of Canandaigua continues to make significant investments in the preservation and improvement of its parks and recreational spaces.
Recent progress includes ongoing work at Onanda Park Uplands, where crews are completing stormwater management and drainage improvements designed to protect Canandaigua Lake and enhance public access. These improvements, guided by the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council and the MRB Group, build upon earlier work shared this year to stabilize slopes, manage runoff, and strengthen infrastructure throughout the uplands area.
At Leonard R. Pierce Memorial Park, a new park entrance sign has been installed—providing a refreshed, welcoming look for one of the Town’s most beloved green spaces. Dedicated in 1981, Pierce Park continues to serve as a popular location for outdoor recreation and community gatherings.
Together, these efforts reflect the Town’s continued commitment to maintaining safe, sustainable, and accessible parks that preserve our natural resources and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
