The 100th Anniversary of the Cheshire Union School
A celebration of the 100 years old Cheshire Union School (construction 1915 - 1916) will be hosted at the school on June 10 & 11, 2016. The Cheshire school contained four classrooms, housing grades 1 through 8, and was the combination of 4 one- room district schools that existed in the area since the early to mid 1800's.
Today, the classrooms are home to the "Cheshire Union Gift Shop and Antique Center," “Cheshire Union Artists’ Loft” and “The Company Store and Deli.” All are open to the public.
In honor of the anniversary, an open house, reunion, celebratory commemoration and picnic will be held on the weekend of June 10 & 11, 2016 at the school. From 4 to 7 pm on Friday (the 10th), the public is invited to an Open House with wine, beer, food tastings and music. There will be a 100th year official commemoration on Saturday (the 11th) at 11am, followed by a community picnic at 12 noon.
All activities will be at the Company Store/Cheshire Union. This free historic event is open to the public and past school attendees to join in the celebration.
