  Provides zoning classification upon request
  Provides Flood plain information
  Meet with prospective developers
  Provides information regarding required setbacks (distance between a structure and a property line),
     heights, uses
  Acts as a Notary
  Provides rules and regs for NYS building code

The Town Development Office does NOT:
  Quote insurance
  Answer questions about tax information
  Answer questions about water districts or water service
  Answer questions about driveways
  Answer public sewer questions - please contact the OC Public Works Department (585) 396-4300

Please note: All structures within the Town of Canandaigua require a building permit

Town of Canandaigua Recently Adopted Local Laws / Resolutions

A Local Law is recognized as state statutes thus there must be a public hearing, proper notice and formal adoption by the legislative body and filing with the Secretary of State.

A Resolution is a dopted by a majority of the full legislative body. Used concerning matters affecting the day-to-day work of government and do not markedly change governmental operations. No public hearing is required for adoption.

The list below will be updated on an as needed basis. The maximum length of time that a local law/resolution will be posted is 180 days. Complete copies of the listed local laws / resolutions are available for review in the Town Clerk’s office and may be purchased for a nominal fee.
