What To Do If You Disagree With Your Assessment
Deadline for filing all exemptions is March 1, 2010
The New York State School Tax Relief (STAR) Program provides an exemption from school taxes for owner-occupied, primary residences. Senior Citizens with combined 2007 income that do not exceed $74,400 may qualify for a larger "Enhanced" exemption. To apply for either Basic or Enhanced STAR exemption, you must file application RP-425 at the Assessor’s office by March 1st. Forms are available at the Assessor’s office or can be downloaded below.
A SENIOR Exemption is available for residents 65+ with a total income of less than $29,000. The form RP-467 can be downloaded below. For instructions, download RP-467-INS.
